LASG Donates Wheelchairs to Persons With Disabilities
Over the weekend, the Lagos State government, through the Office for Disability Affairs, distributed manual wheelchairs to persons with disabilities as part of activities to mark this year’s World Wheelchairs Day.
The state government expressed that it remains committed to providing much-needed mobility support to enhance PWDs’ independence.
Speaking at the presentation of the items at the agency’s office in Alausa, Ikeja, the General Manager of LASODA, Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, stated that the agency partnered with esteemed stakeholders.
Adenike stated that the agency and the Ministry of Health acknowledge wheelchair users and will continue to support them, stressing that hopefully, there will be more partnership that concerns wheelchair users in coming years.
The GM acknowledged the outstanding performances and positive impact that People With Disabilities were bringing to bear in their respective workplaces, emphasising adequate public infrastructure that would further aid their movements around the state.
The world wheelchair day is celebrated every March 1st.
