Bauchi State Orders Five-Week School Closure for Ramadan
The Bauchi State government has mandated the closure of all schools for five weeks

to observe the Ramadan fasting period. Effective from March 1 to April 5, 2025, this
directive affects all public and private primary, junior, and senior secondary schools,
as well as higher institutions of learning in the state. The decision, incorporated into
the 2024-2025 academic calendar, aims to allow students and staff to fully
participate in the holy month. However, the extended break has raised concerns
among parents and educators regarding its impact on academic progress and
preparation for external examinations.
