FG to Leverage Technology for Safer Skies – Keyamo

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing aviation safety and efficiency through advanced technology. This was highlighted by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, during a symposium marking the 25th anniversary of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) in Abuja.
Represented by Dr. Ibrahim Kana, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Keyamo emphasized the role of technology in shaping the future of Nigeria’s aviation industry. He stated that continuous advancements would improve passenger experience, economic growth, and overall safety.
“Aviation safety is not a one-time achievement but a continuous process of adaptation and improvement,” he said, stressing the need for strategic planning, stakeholder collaboration, and innovative practices.
NCAA Director-General, Capt. Chris Najomo, commended the agency’s progress over the years, highlighting its commitment to regulatory excellence and safety. He reaffirmed NCAA’s dedication to upholding global aviation standards in line with the minister’s Five-Point Agenda and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Najomo emphasized the need for embracing new technologies, enhancing operational efficiencies, and fostering partnerships to elevate Nigeria’s aviation industry.
“As we chart the course for the next 25 years and beyond, let us reaffirm our resolve to uphold the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and global best practices,” he concluded.
