Firm Launches Initiative to Empower Young Nigerian Creatives
Betaminds Africa, a community of creative professionals, is set to launch a new initiative aimed at equipping young Nigerian creatives with the skills and resources needed to thrive in the creative industry.
In a statement, the founder, Okunrotifa Ileriayo, highlighted the growing opportunities in the digital space and emphasized how creativity can drive economic growth, reduce unemployment, and foster entrepreneurship. He noted that Nigeria’s creative sector, including music, film, and visual arts, contributed over ₦400 billion to the GDP in 2020.
However, he pointed out that young creatives face challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, funding, and policy support. He called for copyright protection, tax incentives, and investment in arts education to sustain industry growth.
To address these issues, Betaminds Africa will roll out a capacity-building initiative in the second quarter of 2025. The program will offer training, mentorship, and an online community to help young talents navigate the industry.
This initiative will provide aspiring creatives with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to build successful careers,” Okunrotifa said. “By empowering young Nigerians, we can transform creativity into a tool for national development.”
