Nigeria Eyes $5b Yearly From Startup Funding by 2027
The Federal Government is setting ambitious goals for Nigeria’s startup ecosystem, targeting a significant rise in yearly funding inflows from 1 billion dollars to 5 billion dollars by 2027.
The Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, announced this development during an interview with newsmen, emphasizing the need to boost the competitiveness of Nigerian startups globally.
Dr. Tijani highlighted that much of the funding for these startups comes from the San Francisco Bay Area, home to the world’s fourth-largest economy. With efforts to strengthen collaboration between the government and the tech ecosystem, Nigeria’s position as a global tech hub continues to grow.
