NIRA REINFORCES TIES WITH EFCC FOR CYBERSECURITY

The Nigeria Internet Registration Association, (NIRA) has built on its existing collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) towards enhancing the country’s cyber security.

This resolution was reached on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 when Mr. Akinsanya Adesola, the president of NIRA, led a staff delegation on a courtesy visit to Mr. Ola Olukoyede, EFCC’s executive chairman, at the Commission’s corporate headquarters, Abuja.

He emphasised the existing collaboration which was signed in March 2023 and focuses on capacity building. NIRA’s first project was in July 2023 with the EFCC Academy. The president of the association expressed the possibility of annual capacity-building projects, hoping it will aid and add value to the agency’s activities. 

In response, EFCC boss, Olanipekun Olukoyede stated that the collaboration was necessary and needed to sanitize Nigeria’s cyberspace.
