
Oyo Enrols 10,000 Pupils in Free Health Insurance Scheme
The Oyo State Government has launched the enrolment of 10,000 public primary school pupils into its free healthcare insurance scheme.

The official flag-off event took place at the Ibadan Civic Centre, Idi-Ape, with Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal emphasizing the government’s commitment to students’ well-being. The initiative covers pupils from 90 schools across 18 local government areas.
“This scheme ensures our children have sound minds while they learn in conducive environments,” Lawal stated while presenting Insurance Scheme ID cards to enrolled pupils.
Celine Lafoucriere, Chief of UNICEF Lagos Field Office, praised the initiative, stating it reinforces universal health coverage and removes financial barriers to healthcare access.
“Our goal is to extend coverage to all 33 LGAs in the state, ensuring no child is left behind,” she added.
