TINUBU ATTENDS AFRICA ENERGY SUMMIT IN TANZANIA
President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to attend the Head of State Energy Summit, also known as the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit, which kicked off yesterday.
The president arrived at 8:20 pm Nigerian time and was received by the Foreign Minister of Tanzania, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Nigerian High Commission to Tanzania, Salisu Suleiman.
The summit will last for two days and is being hosted by the government of Tanzania in collaboration with the African Union, the African Development Bank Group, and the World Bank Group. On the first day, at the ministerial level, participating countries, including Nigeria, will present their national energy strategies, and termed compacts, detailing approaches to achieving universal energy access within five years.
Today, 28, the Heads of State are expected to endorse the Dar es Salaam Energy Declaration, outlining a unified roadmap for Africa’s progress towards the Mission 300 objectives. The Mission 300 objective is a roadmap for providing electricity access to 300 million people in Africa by 2030.
