At least seven people have died in Thailand after a teenage boy shot his grandparents and then went on a shooting spree at a local secondary school.
Police have said five teachers were killed before the 14-year-old gunman turned the weapon on himself.
Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the attack was “well prepared”.
A 31-year-old teacher who asked not to be named described hearing gunshots and screaming pupils as the attack unfolded: “One of the teachers killed…was my friend.”
Students who escaped the shooting have spoken of their shock, with one girl describing seeing a teacher shot in front of her and climbing over a fence to escape.
The shooting has raised questions about gun control in the country, writes our South East Asia correspondent, and the PM has pledged to introduce a new firearms control law.
