The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, has introduced advanced surveillance technology and tactical equipment under its Deep Blue Project to strengthen maritime security and tackle illegal activities in Nigeria’s territorial waters.

The newly unveiled equipment, which includes unmanned aerial vehicles and armoured vehicles, was presented on Tuesday by HLS International Chief Executive Officer, Tal Spektor, at the Africa International Defence Exhibition in Lagos.

HLS International serves as a technical partner to NIMASA on the Deep Blue Project.

Speaking at the event, Spektor said the initiative provides comprehensive maritime security through intelligence gathering, surveillance, and coordinated enforcement operations.

He added that the project’s Command and Control Centre enables authorities to monitor vessels travelling from different parts of the world into Nigeria’s Exclusive Economic Zone.

The Deep Blue Project operates under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, as part of efforts to improve maritime surveillance and strengthen security across Nigeria’s waters.
