China says it will provide Nigeria with a 200 million renminbi grant to support development projects agreed by both governments. Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, announced the assistance after meeting the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dunoma Umar Ahmed.
The ambassador said the grant reflects China’s commitment to Nigeria’s development priorities and is aimed at delivering tangible benefits to citizens of both countries. He added that China is ready to work with Nigeria to implement commitments from the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation summit in Beijing.
Yu said the Nigeria-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has entered a new phase, with both countries seeking to deepen practical cooperation across sectors. He said the focus would be on turning existing agreements into concrete projects that provide greater benefits for both nations.
