The National Library of Nigeria has signed a partnership with the Qatar National Library to strengthen cooperation in digital transformation, research, knowledge exchange and cultural heritage preservation. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the World Library and Information Congress in Busan, South Korea.
The partnership will support the exchange of research materials, publications and professional expertise, while promoting digital repositories, electronic resources, automation and smart library systems. It will also provide opportunities for staff training, joint programmes and wider public access to knowledge.
National Librarian Chinwe Veronica Anunobi described the agreement as a milestone in Nigeria’s knowledge and cultural diplomacy. She said the partnership would help preserve and digitise Nigeria’s documentary heritage while connecting the country’s knowledge resources with international expertise.
