The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has sanctioned seventy-nine personnel for offences ranging from job racketeering and financial misconduct to negligence, theft and illegal recruitment. The Corps says disciplinary measures include dismissals, compulsory retirements and recommendations for criminal prosecution where necessary.
The Commandant-General, Ahmed Audi, also announced the arrest of twelve suspects, including six alleged pipeline vandals and six others linked to illegal firearms dealings. The Corps said additional suspects were arrested for allegedly vandalising railway and power infrastructure in the Federal Capital Territory.
The NSCDC says it remains committed to enforcing discipline within its ranks while protecting critical national assets. It stressed that officers facing disciplinary action are entitled to due process, adding that anyone found guilty of misconduct will be held accountable under the law.
